commissions & consulting
commissions
I am a sculptor based in northwest Connecticut, available for private commissions. My work is abstract (non-representational), and typically based on geometrical or computational design methods. It is rooted in the practice of fabrication, focusing on materiality, connections and joinery, and structural principles. I work at a range of scales, from small wall-hung or table-top size to large exterior pieces. I similarly work in a wide range of materials, including steel, aluminum, wood, and carbon fiber composites.
I personally design and fabricate all aspects of each sculpture. My studio in is equipped with an array of digital fabrication equipment (CNC routers, CNC plasma cutter, CNC milling machine, 3D printer, 3D scanning) as well as traditional tools for metal forming, bending, welding, vacuum-bagging of composites, sanding, grinding, painting, etc.
consulting
I am available to work with other artists to help develop and realize their designs. I am a specialist in 3D modeling, capable of dealing with highly complex geometries, and can translate raw ideas, physical study models, or sketches into constructable objects. I often interpret artists ideas using a parametric computer model, which allows the visualization of a range of potential versions of the design.I also specialize in digital fabrication, and can prepare files to send to fabricators for operations such as CNC water-jet cutting, laser cutting, plasma cutting, brake bending, milling, etc.
From the developed 3D models I can also generate presentation graphics and renderings. I have in-house fabrication capabilities for prototyping/design development and constructing of presentation models/maquettes.
